Default New clutch cable problem

Trying to put a new clutch cable on my Fxr and I notice that it is separated at fitting , it is aftermarket so It's different than my stock one, I think it's shot no?? Or am I missing something?

Well you either get the $120 clutch cable or the $50 clutch cable.
I'm with perki48,, use it.
I'd wrap some vinyl tape around it after install and adjustment though, to help keep water out and lube in.

Those two parts need to push against one another. You need to take some slack out of the cable to allow this. Also, did you remember to use a cable lube tool to lube the cable first?
