Default Oil Cooler - Horizontal or Vertical

I know there maybe other brands that offer little fans but I've decided on the ones Harley sells.

The question I have is what are your thoughts on the Horizontal or the Vertical one?

The Horizontal one seems less obtrusive but the Vertical one seems that it may get better air flow across it?

My bike is a 2017 FXDWG.

Thanks in advance,
Bob

For me it came down to aesthetics; I didn't care for the look of a vertical mount oil cooler. The vertical will be a bit more effective due to the positioning of the core but the low mount did have a cleaner look, so I went with the cleaner look of a horizontal low mount Jagg.

Before you buy you should investigate both the Jagg and UltraCool offerings available. The HD unit isn't as nicely manufactured and I've read that the Jagg and UltraCool oil coolers are a bit more efficient as well. Many on the Dyna forum are running either Jagg or Ultracool with the HD oil cooler not as popular. Cvaria had both an HD oil cooler and Jagg low mount and put up some images, I'll see if I can track them down for you...

Edited to add: Here it is: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...questions.html

It's a 10 page thread with a great deal of good information and images regarding oil coolers...

I'm removing my oil cooler in protest over M8 and solidarity with true air cooled Big Twins!

Long live the Air Heads!

Please PM me with your thoughts on the oil bud and the installation etc. I'm very curious about adding one to my LRS

Here's some info. I installed it on my LRS. Drilling through the frame was a bit of a pain but other than that I am liking it.
