Default Mx or t bars?

I have narrowed my bar choices to west coast mx or tbars- leaning towards 12s but maybe 14s - have a tsport fairing and want to mount my gauges as well - I am 5'11 and looking to have the bars at shoulder height or a little higher - thoughts on mx vs t bar?

thanks

Mostly comes down to style preference unless you want the broom handle style straight across t bars. I've run t bars with the bent handles and I've run mxt bars in the same width. Felt no real difference but decided to run the mxt on my fxdls since they seemed to flow with the bike. My fat Bob the traditional t seemed to look better.

Jus had my westcoast 12" mxtbars put on yesterday for me and I'm about 5'7". They are at shoulder, maybe a tad bit over. If you're taller, you may like 14". I had a friend who had 14" on his fxdb and it wasn't too bad but I was def reaching more up.

I ordered the mxt s two weeks ago. They should be shipping this week, stoked! I am 5'6 and ordered the 12s. I like the look of the motocross style over the straights.

I'd go with MX bars BUT, saying that I'd have the clamps at the top for bar adjustment. A non adjustable bar is not an option in my opinion. Not to mention hoping to hit your riding comfort sweet spot.

Would these bars still be considered apes?

If no why?

A guy parked his sg near my bike one day and we were talking about riding. I said that his bars were higher than mine and he still called mine apes? He was sporting 12 ish riser and mx bars. I had at the time 12 inch bars on a two inch riser. His set up was at least two inches higher than mine..
Yet he called mine apes?

I have 14" Westcoast T-Bars on my FXDLS. I am 6'1" and my hands sit just slightly above shoulders. T-Bars are more narrow than MX-Ts. The happy medium, in my opinion, between the two would be sling shot bars. 14" is the perfect height I believe.

Don't get west coast t bars. They are super wide, It looks dis proportional. Look at the stats on width before you buy any bar

The classification of tbar or mx bars has nothing to do with width. It's the manufacture who sets that.

If you reslly want a good set up. Get lucky Daves mx bar (14") or San Diego customs t bars (14"). Anything that is 27" or 28" wide is proper. All other bar makers are way to wide for true nature of a club bike.

Narrow, lane split minded, canyon ripper
