I bought a Biltwell Continental Seat because I felt like I couldn't plant two feet on the ground and the controls were to far away. My guy at the bike shop had the best intentions when he ordered it for me, but didn't realize (or tell me if he did) that the tank mount was going to show.

Now, the old tank bib from Harley looks like crap. If I take it off, it doesn't look good in my opinion because there is a large bolt and a big gap in its place. Not to mention, I'd need to buff the tank to make it look right.

Can someone point me in the right direction for a fix for this or offer another seat I should order?

I would cut the leather thing a little to make it look better (maybe even complete that stitched thing that goes in the border) and put black fasteners in there.

I think they make tank bibs that roll up under the tank mount, but I could be wrong. I will either be replacing my current tank bib or replacing the new seat I bought.

Maybe you can attach a trim piece to your tank bib to extend it and cover the tank bolt.?

I'd like to buy something that's pre-made for this problem if possible. I saw this on another post. Look how the bib seems to fit that tank mount and screw.

Maybe I should just ditch this seat. I love the feel, but it just looks like garbage right now.

I'm in the same situation. I bought it without knowing as well. It doesn't bother me that much but I'm curios to see suggestions

I don't think it's too bad, how about slapping some paint on the 'shiny' bits !...b.

I just think that the bib I have on there right now look "unfinished". After doing a good amount of research, you can buy a dash panel extension. Its going to be a chrome piece that extends all the way down to the tank bolt.

Are there any other good fixes out there that I'm not seeing? Maybe a vendor that sells [not leather studded] tank bibs that are meant to go low for single rider saddles?

Captain Itch or any other decent custom leather shop can make you whatever you want.

You have a non-standard seat fitment so you need a non-standard solution. Catalog shopping won't be a whole lot of help.
