Default Vance & Hines Twin Slash 3-inch Slip-Ons

Trying to keep my overhead on my 2017 Street Bob low (budget), the one thing I do want to upgrade is the exhaust.

Not for performance reasons, not for how it sounds. I just think the tapered exhaust that comes stock can use a facelift.

I love the Vance & Hines brand, so I did some searching and found these slip-ons. They're made to fit the year/make/model I have (even if the pic might be slightly different).

Anyone have any experience with these slip-ons? Or with slip-ons in general?

Thanks!
Don

I have them installed on my 14 Fat Bob. Sound is great. Not too loud but loud enough. Night and Day compared to the stock pipes. If you do install them, be sure to put a little never seize at the joint inside the slip-ons, this way they will come off easy if needed.

They are good sounding slip ons.

Overall a quality set of slip ons. The fit and finish is excellent. Sound is slightly raspy as opposed to deep. Baffles can be changed. Night and day to stock sound. I bought mine used from a forum member for $150 shipped. If you're into the traditional 2/2 staggered look you can't beat these. Always intended to upgrade to a 2/1 of some type but still running the slip ons.

I have them also. You probably might get some decel popping with these unless you have a fuel tuner. I removed my baffles and installed some DK Custom`s TTI`s and tuned with my powervision.

I was thinking of that. Which part number did you buy and how did it change the sound? Deeper? Louder?
Thanks !

Antonio I have the W158s. Also that top picture is with the baffle in. I ran them like that for a season. With the baffle in I should have used the W118s. Then I took out the baffle and reinstalled the 158s. For that pipe with the baffle out, the 158s are the correct size. The sound is deeper and the acceleration is smoother. The bike just felt more rider friendly if that makes sense. With the baffle in and 158s, the bike felt jumpy at low RPMs which was fun but you needed to pay attention on downshifts and acceleration coming out of turns. I bet the 118s with the baffle in would be similar to the 158s with the baffle out.
Here is a link to the install:
