I use 6th gear the same way many have already stated. 2500+ RPMs and for me I don't shift to 6th gear until I'm doing 70+ MPH.

5th to at least 65-70. 5th will get you quite a bit further than that, and still pull. 6th is for cruising the slabs: 70-85. Accelerating in 6th from 75-...is good fun. fun on a Bob without windscreen or backrest. Hang oooonnnn...
