Default Lowrider S

Hi
just picked up a 2017 Lowrider S.
Bike has incredible pull and low end torque.
It tends to want to cruise at 3000 rpm and anything above that it's a rocket.
But manual calls for breakin period to keep bike under 3000rpm and to vary the engine speed.
My question is ; isn't that lugging the engine?
There isn't much of a window to keep RPMs at.
What are some of your thoughts on breaking this baby in?
Thanks

The majority of engine break in happens within the first 20 miles; either the rings seated or they didn't

My pattern on new bikes or engine builds is RPM drills for the first 20 miles, then a complete fluid change on all 3 holes. I ride as I'm going to ride it, with frequent complete fluid changes during the first 1k miles to remove whatever residual schmutz is still floating around in the engine, primary, or transmission.

I've never agreed with that baby it break in approach...

Ride it like you stole it. Heat and pressure seat rings. Never had any problems.

No holeshot launches, burnouts and rev limiter upshifts. Other than that I would ride it like you normally would. For me that is 2800-3800 rpm depending on the roads I am on.

No, not even close. That's a pretty normal cruising speed.

Awesome bike
I was told to keep the engine below 3000rpm for the first 200-300 miles. I just rode it steadily for those miles but changed up and down regularly to keep the revs lower than usual.
After 300 miles I changed the pipes and remapped the ECU to raise the rev limiter to 6200rpm and have been smiling ever since.
