damn beagle1, bummer to hear of your pains. i was hoping to ride with you this year. ill just have to ride down your street and crack my pipes for you . i have some great tools at the house if you want me to come up with something for those hips . well at least you can say you have owned one and enjoyed every minute of it. you will find another toy for now or until you turn 50 [:@]. 50 is still a good riding age to . jackyl

Dude, so sorry to read about this. I've always had a fear of something like that myself. But, hey, get to 50, get the new hips and a new bike. The new models then will be awesome!

That is sad, sorry to hear this. I don't think I could ever sell my bike. Hopefully you will ride again someday.

Wow.....so sorry to hear of your pain. I would say start talking to specialists around the country. You may be surprised to find different opinions. I almost lost my sight 6 years ago. But I found a surgeon who fixed everything. One of my best friends had a brain tumor and was going to have to quit. But he found the right MD and now he is rid one ugly tumor and back on his V-rod. He was off riding for some time but now he is back. I would check it out for sure. I will say a prayer for you.

Ron,

I didn't see this until it was tooo late for your ride, but this may still help. There is a Dr. in Columbus OH (I know the Buckeye State is hell for a Wolverine!!) that might be able to help you. He does surgery at Riverside Methodist Hospital. I'll get his name this tonight. It's something like Milleragno... PM me and I'll have it for you. He does GREAT work! He has done knee replacement on 40 year olds, so I'm sure he can/will do hip replacement also.

Damn!! Sorry to hear that man!!

Maybe look at a trike type of bike???? I have seen alot ofdifferent customs that sit more like a car??? I don't know, worth a shot??

Agreed .... Trike with the gas tank in rear ( use an old smallstainless beer keg) where a rack would be. Bend out some custom sheet metal in the front that allows you to get your legs right and ride off into the sunset!!

PsTaN
iam right around the corner 4 blocks,if you need me to fabricateor help you build it. i would love to get crazy on building a trike. i would like to build a(the munsters type trike) .jackyl

This one's for you:

Thanks again everyone! I sincerely mean it. You guys(and one gal) are great. You bring a tear to my eye with all the kind words and suggestions.

I'll be back on 2 wheels one day. For now, I have a 2006 Mustang GT coming from Orlando, my employer is ready for me to install one of our Superchargers ASAP.
