Default Burly drop in is racking my brain!!!

So I had a post on here about 5 or so weeks back about my burly drop ins not lowering the front of my bike at all. The responses on here helped me out letting me know that the fork tubes I had on the front of my Street Bob were in fact 2 inches longer than stock. So I just got the bike back from the shop going back to stock tubes. (350$ later) and it only dropped the bike 1 inch. There's a 2 inch lowering kit in there. The stock exposed fork tube, which I have been told, is 5 inches. I should be at 3 inches but now I'm at 4. I don't understand why I'm having such a problem dropping the front 2 inches.

My question is why wouldn't I be getting the full drop with the spacers cut to 1 inch per the burly instructions? Could too much fork oil be preventing a full drop? For some strange reason would the shop have put in a useless spacer? I'm completely lost and don't know if I should bring it back to the shop that had it for THREE WEEKS just to change the fork tubes, or if anyone else has come across this problem and could lend a helping hand with some direction.

-Brandon

If pictures are needed I can make that happen.

brandon,

my 2013 StreetBob had 6 inches of "exposed fork tube" prior to my progressive drop-in.

i did the geometrical calculations of total lower on my rear, and wanted the front to match to keep the bike level. 11" rear shocks should result in 1.2" drop.

i installed Progressive 412 11" shocks on the rear; actual measurements showed an overall lower of 1.25 inches.

as in wanting to keep the bike level, i cut my progressive drop-in spacers accordingly, resulting in a front end lower of exactly 1.25".

see picture; after 1.25" lower, i have 4.75" "exposed".

hope this helps; i understand how frustrating something can be when you spend good amounts of money, and do not achieve the results you expected; reference my 7" headlight nasty wind thread.

but, i think at 4" exposed, you are at the full 2 inches.

Ok, I was told 5 inches was stock. I guess I was ill-informed. Thank you.
