Well I also returned a solo Mustang seat.

I had a Mustang seat for years on my last bike and loved it.

I’m going to try a solo Sundowner which I just received,
hope it works out better than the stock 07 SB.

...Wow...I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Mustang seats! I never even sat on one, but you always hear that they are supposed to be the epitome of comfort, the Cadillac of cycle seats. Igot a 2-up Badlander just because it was only a little more expensive than getting the pillion for the stock 'Bob seat. Looks cool, but I think the stock seat was just a tiny bit more comfy...why is hindsight always 20/20?

I also tried the Mustang Wide Vintage Solo and didn't like it either.

The Solo Mustang moved me to far back on my SB.
I put 10,000 miles on a Mustang seat on my last bike and loved it.

As I have yet to ride my FXDC, I cant comment, but I went thru a heap of different seats on my various BMWs, and could not get anything that suited. Corbin, Sargent etc, all no good for me.
My previous Heritage Springer was the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden.
I have a friend who just bought a 2007 FXDC as well, and he has the Sundowner seat. I sat on it, and it feels real good.
I will try the standard one 1st, as my dealer said the seats need around 4-6,000ks to "loosen" up, so I will see.
I cant wait to get on mine!!16hours to go!!

Sorry to hear some of you guys are not happy with your new Mustang seats. Just got my Mustang Vintage Solo (NOT the wide version) this week and installed it yesterday on the Bobstah, seems very nice, and I'm going out later this morning for a ride to try it out. Actually, I like being back a bit more, but may need to change to taller bars or get somewhat taller risers since I seem to sit a little taller in the saddle now w/the Mustang - something I was thinking about doing in any case, but wanted to see how the seat feels first. Only problem is, I managed to fall down a small flight of stairs the other day (stupid, stupid!) and now my tail bone is a bit bruised and sore, and not recovering as quickly as I had hoped (getting older is a b*tch) - but guess that'll be a good test for the new seat - LOL!

By the way, I'm going to send out my stock bob seat for a little recontouring (a little lower and back a bit, perhaps with a gel pad?) and a new cover (the original has gotten a bit dimpled, WTF?) - then at least I'll have two solos to choose from! If the Mustang doesn't work out in a few weeks of riding, it'll go up on eBay! No way will it truly break-in during the return time frame I figure.

every butt (no pun intended) will find their own comfortable seat....might be one brand or another. Try them all on for size before buying is the best scenario although not the easiest thing to do...
