I did. my post was kicked out of there and moved here because I didnt show how I repurposed the piece to work on a bike. instead it looked like I bought a part from a catalog and called it a mod.

oh well. some will see it in here, some won't

two 5/16 x 1.5" bolts
two 1/4" chrome spacers

Default Ness BS Backplate coated black

Installed a Stage I kit two years ago. Went with the Ness Big Sucker A/C. At that time either a chrome version wasn't offered, or I never saw it. Hence the backplate is "natural" (crappy) aluminum. Always wanted to do "something" with it.

Rainy up here this past weekend so I took it all apart, cleaned the backplate and coated it black - I have a partially blacked-out SB. I sanded it a bit, then used Hi-Temp rustoleum for base, and just a scoche of textured black from rustoleum to make it look a bit like the black denim of the motor. It came out nice.....have to reinstall as yet, but for the price of spray paint basically, it's got an original look that goes with the bike, and you can't buy off the shelf...

ride hard

yeah, I LIVE at Home Depot and can't figure out anything except maybe some galvanized metal strap at that price. Or aluminum for a bit more. Not that I'd use it on a Herry.
Oh, best mod is the football AC cover center. I can't believe how much larger the engine looks and how much JOY I had needing to polish the chrome that was hidden!!! Nice to have the bike stats on the cover too, even if it is just an 88 Twin.
