Default Softail to Dyna rear pulley swap?

I've seen several threads about pulleys but this isn't a gearing one. I found a wheel I loved online and was assured it would fit my 06 superglide. Now I'm sitting here seeing that it won't because the hub is too wide with my stock pulley. Company said the hub fits an earlier softail and no it won't fit. My question for you guru's is if anybody knows of a pulley that will bolt up and get it off the swing arm? Or is having the stock pulley machined down a safe option? My bad if this is in another thread but I didn't see it anywhere. Any help is appreciated!!!

I agree with tincup.. hes the man. Go to the wheels link and just search or look for a thread from me. I was asking about rims. He posted there.

OK, let's get to the bottom of this

If the hub is "too wide" then it may be a later Softail not earlier.

Did you run a tape measure through the bearings yet?

How bout some specifics...
-Picture? you may be too new/not enough posts
-link to the "loved" wheel?
-laced spoke or "mag"?
-blah,blah,blah

.

The new hub is roughly 7.5" and mine seems to be about 3/4" smaller. New setup is 80 spoke 18x5.5 and 200 mm tire. My pulley looks to have a lip on the inside that is close to the amount of space I need and that's why I'm wondering if there is a flat pulley that may work?

Oh and I can tell I will need a new sized spacer on the caliper side as well but I can easily get that machined or buy new after I figure out the pulley side.

Sounds like an aftermarket wheel for "custom applications"

I think you know that you're trying to install a hub that "doesn't belong".

Not saying you can't get there, but without someone seeing all the parts in question or detailed drawings in lieu of...uphill battle

Machine work can probably solve it, not just on the pulley, but the hub

There must be some good reason why you didn't get a wheel that would fit your bike
