I have a 1999 FXDX, which came stock with laced wheels. I am switching to cast wheels. Are the spacers on the axle the same for both wheels? or do I need different spacers? Upon first look, it seems like there's a gap on the right side.

first time i have ever heard of that swap... laced to cast?!? huh? heard of cast to laced many times... the spacers should be the same for both set of wheels if they are from the same year range. there were some changes with axle size etc so id make sure you know when the changes were made.

 

Just stick a tape measure thru the hub on the cast wheel and then compare to the measurement of the hub on your laced wheel.
If they are the same you are good to go. If they are different then you will have to make the proper adjustment to the length of one, or both, spacers, which is not a big deal........pg

98fxd: not getting rid of them. using them for long rides 'cause I can run tubeless tires.
