Getting the gold shade to match wouldn't be difficult, little bit of dirt would dull it down.
I'm planning gold thread on mine, it matches the bike a lot better. The wheels need a tiny bit of gold up top to balance out. (Ever seen an LR-S without the gold tank badge? The wheels look really out of place). The silver thread could match with the accents on the engine, but personally I think gold is the way to go and I'm the most exciting man I know.
With that being said, I love the red threading and if it matched with the bike it's what I would get above the gold.

running one on my LR-S, shifts you forward the smallest bit and definately higher.
I am 6'1 and I was tentative about moving forward any more but it feels great, puts you in a more aggressive riding position and the curve at the back holds you in tight.

That's good to hear.
After doing a long road trip I wouldn't have minded being back about 1" but 99% of my riding is more twisty and traffic dodging. I found with a slightly more forward lean I could make the bike react a whole lot better, but the stock seat isn't really set for that.
Come on tax return...
