So I notice there are threads about replacement motor mounts and am just wondering why? This is my second Harley and have never had a motor mount issue, at least that I know of. So obviously I am lacking some info on this topic. Can someone chime in? Oh my first HD was a 2009 Roadglide if that makes a difference.

Wait are there problems with motor mounts?!?! Is there a recall?? What's wrong??? What happens if you don't fix em??? Am I gonna crash??? Is this why my engine makes a screeching noise between the speeds of 1 mph and 120 mph??? Oh my god what do I do??? Lol

What kind of oil is everyone using these days?

 

To tell you the truth, we just can't stop fiddling with stuff and improving it. What fun is it having a bike if you don't spend money on stuff that is marginally better than the stuff you have?

 

I agree 100%

 

There's basically two issues

One has to do with oil changes - where the oil drips down from the filter and permeates the motor mount rubber

Rubber deteriorates causing issues


Next - dynas.., out of the box..., are not the best handing bike

One I currently have for instance..., while cornering..., pushed like a dump truck - sharper the curve more it pushed (fought me)

Swapped out the stock motor mount to a predator

Bike now corners like it on rails - I think turn..., it already has

btw - bike's a 13 - the MM rubber was starting to show deterioration when I changed it last year
