Cruise-Mate motorcycle cruise assist review
I bought a Cruise-Mate cruise assist and thought it was worthy of a review.
The Cruise-Mate replaces the star wheel friction adjusting screw with a fast acting lever device, it does the same thing as the friction adjusting screw only the Cruise-Mate is easy to use. Its pretty handy a flick of your thumb and its on or off, great for giving your wrist a break.
The Cruise-Mate is fairly easy to install, it involves disassembly of the throttle housing and cables so you can drill and tap the lower housing where the friction wheel originally installed, this is so you can install a stainless steel adapter sleeve to accept the lever cartridge.
Cruise-Mate offers free installation if you request it, mail your lower throttle housing to them, or if you don't have the tools for 20 bucks more they will sell you a drill fixture with the correct drill and tap for installation, and offer a 15% veterans discount. Retail is $39.00

I had one installed in the vendor area of Black Hills Harley Davidson when I was at Sturgis last year and they did the installation for free while I walked around and looked at all the other cool stuff for bikes. Well worth the couple of bucks it costs and the tension is adjustable too. Very high on the bang for the buck scale.
