Default 99 WG want start

Thought it was the battery but fully charged it and it still is just a rapid clicking sound. Any suggestions? TIA

Test power at your starter, and test your case ground. If you have battery voltage at the starter, and a good ground, then you should replace the starter. Unless of course your motor is locked up but I'm sure you would know if that was the case.

Even if you have adequate voltage at the starter, you may have insufficient amperage. Make sure all the connections are clean and tight. Also make sure the cables are intact (no fraying, etc). Finally, have the battery load tested. An internal (to the battery) problem could also cause a power drop under load.

I once had an issue where EVERYTHING tested good and the sumbitch still wouldn't crank. Turned out to be a corroded post on the starter.

Take the battery to an auto parts store (Autozone, NAPA) and let them load test it. Then check connections make sure they are clean , positive and negative. Remove the the starter relay, again check for clean , no corrosion. How old is this battery?

Took the battery to auto zone. It was fully charged but bad. Bought a new one and fired right up. Thanks

Thanks for the results, those tend to help others when they scan the boards.
