Default Getting Tased by the Plug wires....

On my last ride, i kept getting tased by the plug wires. I'm thinking that i might just go back to the SE wires but, i remember getting some stings from those too any one had this happen?

the shocks weren't overly painful. It was just enough for my brain to ask, "wtf, bro?" And cayse me to move my leg away for the bad place

I'm not in to moving coils but,, i think there were so heat advantages to moving the coils as well. Where are folks moving the coils?

Might wanna check your plug gaps before you get new wires.

I'm using MSD 8.5 mm wires and they're rock solid. Of course, I also hid the coil and routed the wires way up out of the way, so they would ground to the frame LONG before I got bit.

You shouldn't be gettin zapped at all. If you are, you need new wires. Never had this happen. Ever.

Definitely think your plug wires are breaking down, Grab yourself a pair of plastic or
WELL insulated pliers and start your bike when it's dark out, move the wires close to a ground source and you'll probably see the arching. CGGorman is on the mark as well, if your plug gap is too great the energy will seek the path of least resistance.

At work (auto tech) we use water in a spray bottle and watch the mist as well as how the engine responds.

Yup. Last time I bought some purdy braided wires, they came with a steel spanner and wire to ground to frame!

Back in the day overbraided wires were used to reduce EMI and the braid was grounded. Didn't realize they still did that.
