Default My New 2005 FXDWG...

...been out of the Harley family since 1988 (had a wonderful 87 FXR that I had to sell), and finally coming back home. Drove down to Tilley's HD in Salisbury, NC to pick up a leftover 2005 FXDWG. $16,800 out the door. Black Cherry Pearl (pic below doesn't even come close to doing it justice). Carb.

Picked it up a week ago Saturday, put ~400 mostly city miles on it in 5 days, bought fluids for the 1000 mile maintenance, packed a bag, and rode from Va Beach VA to Bowling Green KY to attend a Mustang race this past Friday. Stayed the weekend (did the 1000 mile maintenance at ~1150 miles), then rode back Monday. What an experience.

Thanks for reading.

Way to go Bob!!!

Welcome to the forum. You are a man with exquisite taste in motorcycles (see signature). Nothing says Harley like a wide glide, you know it from a mile away. I've had mine parked along side of road kings, sporsters, softails and people all gather around my wide glide. Many happy and safe miles to you.

Love that WG, got that old school chopper look, but a modern bike. Gteat for trips or cruising around town.

You and that bike look right at home.

Ride smart & safe.

Very nice! You will rule the road on that bike!

Not that you asked my opinion, but i would replace the stock rubber pegs and grips with some chrome to set your bike off even more. But either way, a very sweet ride!

Thanks for the pic of your new Harley. You said that the pic didn't do it justice. I think that the pic looks great and I guess that if I saw it in person, I would probably have to be wearing shades so I wouldn't get blinded. Looks good to me.

Tks for all the kind words.

DCRANER...always smart and safe.

fordracing19...yes. Had a good year in NMRA Factory Stock racing last year...

Wally...thanks for the suggestion. One other thing I want to do is put a set of pegs in the middle position to give me a place to move my feet/legs on those long rides.

Thanks again for the nice comments.

Bob
