You might tow it, stopping it would be the question in my mind.

Yikes! I know you have decided against it, but man, I cannot imagine what it would take to have actually done this.

How would you have made the ball mount to accommodate a 2" ball? Your clutch likely would not have survived the day. Stopping this set up would have been terrifying.

What was the motivation for the idea? Camping?

Yup

Depending on the trailer / load - side gust of wind = toast

Cage cut in front of you / cut you off / stops really quickly (like none of these ever occur) = toast

Swerve to miss a road hazard..., like NF said "tail waggin the dog" = toast

Trailer tire hit a pot hole / rough patch of road and starts bouncing = toast

Load the front of the trailer too lightly (dyna *** end light already) = fishtail..., toast

Load trailer front too heavily - overloads the *** end.., handling goes to **** = toast

Not to mention..., above would over work the rear tire - blow out potential.., definite wear issue..., suspension issues

Like HD511 said - clutch not built for it..., nor the gearing for that matter

Other than that - hell..., why not - toast is delicious

Can't see how any of that would be any different from pulling a trailer with a touring bike. Granted, the OP is talking about a danged heavy trailer.

Best buy or build a trailer for a motorcycle. I built this from a Northern Tool trailer (narrowed) and a cargo box from Sears. Trailer weighs less than 100 lbs. I towed this many thousand miles with a 1500 Goldwing sometimes loaded to near 500lbs of camping gear, coolers, beer, etc. Never knew it was there except for stopping and reduced fuel mileage. Dyna should tow 300lbs easily if not more. Finding a hitch will be a huge issue however.

I'm ridin' a bagger and I've towed my Bushtec thousands of miles with out a problem. In fact I don't even notice it on the back ... 35 mph or 80 mph ... Made several "high speed runs" home from Sturgis covering over 800 miles in one day.
