I'm guessing Love Jugs bought out Wards. But that's just my opinion. Not loving the skull either, but I could live with it, esp. With a little black paint.

 

Or maybe paying rights/royalties... We (the company I work for) do that with some designs patented by competitors.

 

The skulls have got to be an option, right? I hope so. I would think you would lose market share over only having a product with skulls plastered all over it.

 

Glad I got a set of the originals, those are hideous. Wonder if our warranties are gonna be honored....

 

The grills are an obvious change but the mount itself has been slightly modified compared to Wards. Shape is basically the same but more material directly around center hole.

 

Could very well be. Usually though the patent holder won't continue producing, right?

 

Ours do. there are three or four companies producing the same patented features/parts, including the patent holder. I know we pay a fee to the patent holder and have express permission to use that feature of their design. Can't speak to any other company/industry/instance.
