You don't leave it suspended on the hydraulic jack.

Plus, if you need to, you can move the bike while on the jack, can't do that with a scissor stand.

Tin Cup is right, you never hear anyone say anything bad about their PV or their J&S jack.

I'd even go so far to say if Thomas Jefferson rode a HD he would have had a J&S jack in his garage.

Even the $75 Harbor Freight jack has steel pawls to prevent collapse.

If it pleases you I say get one! I have a HF front wheel chock that with a 20% off coupon I think I paid 42 bucks for, worth every penny, love it!

I've got the HF lift. Works OK. I'd rather have a J&S, but I'm too cheap.

thanks all! I'm cheap-***, so I'll probably go the HF 1500lbs lift - http://www.harborfreight.com/automot...ift-61632.html unless anyone has any horror stories $80 vs $450 is kinda easy choice!

Not exactly a horror story, but you'll need the dyna lift adapters or some equivalent blocks of wood to make the HF lift work under a dyna. The oil pan guard welded to the frame gets in the way otherwise.

There's an alternative mechanical modification that can be made to the lift, but it sounds like you may not be into that kind of thing.

My baby gets put on the J&S for her winter nap, this very weekend.

I will take pictures, because it's cool.

It's even more fearsome with the adapter blocks! They add an extra layer of instability that's especially brilliant when working without straps! ;-)
