Default Help ID this part...noob question Lol

Had my '16 SB for a couple months now and just saw this under my throttle side grip. Seems nuts I never really noticed it but I have no clue what it's for or what it is! Help?

Let me get this straight, a Forum member since 2012, 320 posts, you've owned and ridden the bike for a couple of months!

That is a throttle lock, you can tighten it to hold your throttle momentarily while you stretch your throttle arm/hand, scratch your nuts, whatever you need to scratch.

Keep it slightly loose, not overly loose but enough so that it never exerts friction against your throttle until you have mastered it.

If you want to increase the RPM's, for warm up purposes, hold the throttle to the desired speed, and turn knod to the left, and it will hold the throttle open to your desired RPM's

Guess I should have rephrased. Traded my '06 sportster for my SB a couple months ago. Better?

At any rate, the sporty didn't have that and I'd never seen it before. Thanks for the answer and the subtle request for clarity of my original post

No need to lock throttle to warm up bike with EFI.

I have never had one of the newer Sportsters but every Sportster I've ever owned has had a throttle lock on it. And every Dyna I have ridden has had one.
