I run the Pythons on my SG and love them.

Same thing happen to me on my 06 SG when I had the dealer's svc. dept. install the Stage One with mufflers. Sounded like a darn moped. I was very dissatisfied with the sound. However, they do get louder in time. Mine had bolt's and nuts, but I still could not remove the baffles. I finally found a set of older SEII's with Big City Thunder baffles. Now I got that Harley sound.

Actually, the newer mufflers do work, they are just quiter.

BikeCop, keep us posted on your other thread about your bike getting dropped.

Hey Distanf

The pipes on your Dyna look like mine -- do you have problems with the bottom one scraping when you corner right? My bottom pipe touches down well before my pegs do -- although I have forwards.

Meveratt, yep they would. Not the only problem either. The service department installed them and did not put a spacer on the bottom muffler. This caused the the top muffler to rub the bottom muffler and it rubbed a channel out. The muffler support rub a spot on the top muffler. Once again, a dealer screw up that they did not own up to doing. I installed SEII's and haven't had any problems other than setting off a few car alarms.

Let me be the lone rider who likes the new SE mufflers. I had the SEII's on, and they sounded great, but just a little loud for long trips. I got a pair of the new SE mufflers off Ebay. They really made the bike quiter for long trips. After years of having loud pipes on all my bikes, the silence is golden.

And don't ask me if I want to sell my SEII's. They will be on the bike when I'm not doing long trips.

I have a pair of the discontinued SEII that were on my '06 Bob for a couple thousand miles. Swapped them out for V&H BSS. Dunno if they will fit on an '07. The part number is 80293-99A (slash-down). If anyone wants them, I'll take $80 (PayPal) shipped via Fedex to the Lower 48. If you're in the DFW area, swing by and pick them up for $60. PM if interested. SOLD Pending Payment

Had the stealer do a stage 1 put the SE aircleaner and SE pipes on when I bought the 07 SG ,what a joke for sound, he said they will sound louder as time goes on (don't think so) Is there any cure for this! can I pull the baffels out, drill out, knock out or what! and if I do any of this will I have to have the EFI mapped or whatever.
I have a Harley that sounds like a Honda at best
Thanks for all the help

There is something to do with the "quiet" SE mufflers, Chek this out :
https://www.hdforums.com/m_1726810/tm.htm

I modified my quiet SE mufflers and you will find the step by step instructions in this article.
You can also remove the fiberglass for a even better sound.
