Default Speedo cutting out and D08 code

So on the ride home from work today I noticed my speedo cut out and the check engine light was on. When I would come to a stop it would turn back on.

Any revs above 3k and the speedo cut out again. I checked my codes when I got home and I had a d08 and from what Ive found thats speedo overcharging.

I checked the battery at idle and Im getting 13.2v but when I revved it would jump past 15v. Im thinking its the voltage regulator but I wanted other opinions before I spend 140 bucks for a new one

Default Voltage Regulator

Yeah, 15 volts is too much. There is lots of trouble shooting electrical info on this website.
Not always correct but a general rule is low voltage is the stator and over voltage is the voltage regulator.

Try reading this...it should help you fix the problem.

Default Cycle Electrics

I would suggest either Harley(OEM) or these folks. I usually only like to buy a new component once.
