My review of Jackles Tank lift............

RE: My review of Jackles Tank lift............
I posted this in another thread yesterday but I think it fits here......
Thanks Jackyl! Best $25I ever spent. Put the 2" lift on today and it looks incredible. Now I can see that beautiful v-twin! Makes a perfect line from the seat. I think the lifts look particularly good on Street bobs because of the mini-apes.
I did remove the console and rearranged the fuel line and wires. It gave mea little more length.
It was a great part. It was a quick and fun installation with instant gratification!

RE: My review of Jackles Tank lift............
I just installed the 2" lift on my bike a few days ago. The install was really straight forward. The only pisser is that when the handlebars are turned all the way to the left (normal parking position) the bolt from the triple trees hits the tank. I just got back from my first ride with the lift on the tank and sure enough now I have a tiny ding in the front of the tank. I will have to park with the handlebars turned to the right (will be a hard habit to break). So anyone with the '07 Low Rider be aware of this situation so you don't hit your tank like I did. The good news is the ding is very small and I would be the only one to ever notice it.

I tried it but there isn't anymore give to slide the tank back. I will have to try a dremmel later on. For now I took off the lift kit because I don't want to mess up the tank from the triple tree bolts hitting the front of it.

RE: My review of Jackles Tank lift............
I wondered that myself. The answer in my case is yes.
What I don't know is if you get to use all the gas. It seems like some of it would be unreachable to the fuel line since the rear of the tank is slanted down with the lift. Prior to my 3" lift, I could go 200 miles before refueling but I'd start sweating at 190. I haven't had the nerve to run the tank that low without refilling since adding the lift.

I didn't get the wiggle room by loosening the tank bolts so I took a round file to the rear tank mounting bracket. Filing about 1/8" or so toward the tank let the tank slide back enough to get front end clearance
Took about 10 minutes.
Thanks again for the tip Psycho!
