Default Grip replacement.

Looking to replace my grips that came on the bike. They're the chrome with rubber strips type and I don't like them. Ordered some basic grips for $16.95, but of course they don't fit, mainly on the left side they don't fit under the control housing. From China, should've known. Anyway, I'm just looking for basic grips that don't cost $100 like the HD Live to Ride ones. Any suggestions ?

There are a lot of good options out there for under $50. Just got through with this myself.
I went with Avons and really like them. Good luck.

Yeah, sometimes they're like that huh?
Doesn't matter,, I got the chinese knock off kuryakyn ISO and the left doesn't have that little lip to fit inside the grip,, but the key phrase is "doesn't have it",, so it's not sticking out any extra. Doesn't bother me that it's not there and nobody has walk up and pointed out the offending left grip non-fitting under control housing rubber part.
Use an adhesive (you must check the forum for the 100 types of forum approved adhesives) and all is good.

Lowbrow Customs has a nice selection of grips under $25. If you still have the throttle tube they just slip on with no fiddling with the switch housings. I use compressed air to remove and install.

This lowbrow grips are cool, but they don't look like they have the throttle cable attachment on the right side grip. Avon makes some grips that will work for you though. Search for Avon old school grips. You are going to be right around $25 shipped.

That's why I mentioned if the OP still had the stock throttle tube. They are easy to swap out at will if that is still in place. They obviously won't work if it's been replaced with grips that have the built in tube. One would need to buy a replacement.

Cut off the piece on the left grip and glue it to the bars.
