'07 Wideglide headlight bucket is very loose
I was in the dealership today trying to check how loose the headlight buckets were on the '07 WGs on the floor. One was slightly loose and the other two were tight. Mine moves back up and down about 3/16" as the 2 rivets holding the bucket to the mount allow it to move. The service manager happened to be walking through when I was checking and said he has had alot of complaints about this from other customers. Then he gives his standard answer for everything:"that's just the way they are made". WTF? I didn't really realize how loose mine was until riding it in town tonight and seeing how the light pattern bounced around. The sales manager was just ordering parts for my bike as I took delivery with a paint chip out of the rear fender (it appeared to be clear coated over) and the chrome on my baby apes look like someone took a piece of steel wool to them. They are changing both for me and throwing on a pair of internally wired grip heaters for free. I do want them to fix my headlight though . Has anyone else noticed a lot of movement in the headlight bucket? Thanks.

RE: '07 Wideglide headlight bucket is very loose
Took bike in for 1000 mi. service, asked to have headlight adjusted too. When riding home afterwards heard squeeky-rattle.Puthand on headlight and noise quit.Got home to garage and upon inspection found rivets in headlight bucket loose.Dumbasses had adjusted headlight w/o loosening mounting bracket nut and bolt, causing rivets to pull loose.
Went to bicycle shop and got 4 small stainless steel bolts and nyloc nuts(for mounting racks etc.)and installed where rivets had been.Super tight and sturdy.
Told dealer,he offered new bucket, but I declined since mine is now stronger than stock.
