Default Switching bars

Hey this is my first post. I just bought a 2013 fxdbp, its the one on the trailer. The bike is completely stock and I want to change my bars. Can anyone tell me how high I can go before i need longer cables? I was thinking of getting bars like the picture i posted.

It depends on the bend and how narrow the bars are. I know the lucky daves san diego bars are good for up to 14" but other MX style bars you can only get a 12" without having to extend cables.

You're fine up to 14" maybe even 16"...I have just over 14" right now and still have a little room left to go on stock cables

My ex-chick had a '06 and used the stock cables on 14" bars that dropped to 12" at the grip. The cables were tight, but fit. Anymore than 12" on her bike would have required extended cables and a brake line. You'll be fine with the wiring.

Great color and nice bike! Ride safe and enjoy!

12s no problem. 14 inch is a hit and miss. If you go 14s just try to confirm someone has the same bars and it worked.

I swapped a 4 inch riser/stock FXD bar with a Burley 12" narrow ape and am glad I changed the cables. The brake cable had almost clogged and may never have totally but since I swapped it the front brake stops better without as much pressure. I learned how the clutch cable works in the tranny and how to install cables on a carb and properly adjust them. Well worth the $100.
