Still another helmet question

RE: Still another helmet question
I switched from a 1/2 helmet to a HJC CL-33 3/4 with flip up face shield. I'm on my second one now...because of an accident. Good protection but the face shield is a little short (or my friggin' face is too long).
HD's 3/4 with flip up face shield is made by HJC. Several other manufacturers make Harley helmets, too. The P&A catalog or the quarterly P&A update flyers will tell you who makes each of the helmets HD sells (for much more than the comparable manufacturer's product without the HD logo).

RE: Still another helmet question
I've tried a half-helmet. Way too much lift and noise. I currently wear one of two HJC helmets, an AC-3 (3/4) or a CL-15 (FF). Both of these are the most comfortable helmets that I've ever worn. A buddy who rides a lot says that his CL-15 is just as comfortable as the big bucks Arai that he used to have. If you don't like the big"HJC" logo on the front, it peels right off. The other good thing about them is thatyou can replace any of the liner components. Try either www.helmetshop.com (free shipping) or www.helmetharbor.com. I've ordered from both and they have great service. Hope this helps.

RE: Still another helmet question
Thanks everyone. I rode about 350mi. the other day without a helmet (hiway riding) and the next day my forehead hair line hurt like hell. Not sure if it was sunburn or windburn. All I know is its still pealing. I like wind in the hair also, but not gonna do that again.

RE: Still another helmet question
I have a Momo Design Essenziale helmet in rubberized flat black with the Fighter helmet slip down visor. It's a great 3/4 helmet and as Momo Design pieces go, it doesn't have their damn logo all over it.
This helmet is far more stable feeling than my HD 1/2 helmet. Covering the ears helps cut the noise considerably also. These aren't cheap helmets, but they are light and are distinctive in appearance.
