Default Fuel moto big bore kit reliable?

How many miles do you guys have on your fuel moto kits? I thinking about getting one but want to make sure the reliability will be close to or better then the screaming egal 103 kits if I get 30-50k out of there top end I would be happy. Please only post if you have over 5-8k on your kit I don't feel you can say it's super reliable with less then 5-8k on it.

I think most folks on this site would vouch for anything Fuel Moto sells. They have about the best reputation around. Maybe not a ton of dyna guys with the FM big bore kits, but the baggers use FM constantly and seem totally happy.

Is it just that most people that ride dynas are happy with them stock or is it that they use some other kit?

Fuel Moto seems to lean toward the "KITS" for the Baggers. That's where the most money is. However any engine mods used on the baggers also work on Dyna's and work well. I would trust anything from them.

Default here is one for you.

I have over 16,000 miles on my 09 FXDC with the FM 107 kit and Woods 555 cams. No issues whatsoever. I run it pretty hard and it performs extremely well. Dyno'd 110 hp 115 ft. lbs.

He is not saying that, you just might be asking in the wrong forum. Go to the engine performance thread and ask there, too.

My 110 will likely make it about 1 more year before I do something expensive. I read nothing but great things about FM, and would not hesitate to hand them a stack of cash. The HD 117 kit has my attention, as well. My only reason to choose that is the good relationship I have with my dealer.

You have not mentioned anything specific about what you plan to purchase. Very vague. One thing I can tell you is these parts are only as good as the guy that does the work, the tune that accompanies it, and the maintenance and habits you use after its done. A shitty tune, and poor habits after the fact will make it less "reliable"

I have the same specs for my 2008 FXDC and run a TMAX for a tuner. Over 15k miles without any problems. Would recommend going with compression releases as they said its not required but since they are changing jugs, might as well add them.

Never been dyno'd but would guess at around 100 hp as well.

Only downside for me is the additional heat.
