Don't forget to buy a can of "Aguanet" aerosol hair spray for installation. Shouldn't be more than $2 at your local Chinamart. I bet there's even a "how to" for this procedure on yootoob...
$20 ??? Have you priced grips at the stealership lately ???

My fancy PM grips are melting and all sticky after only 2 season. And they were a lot more then $20 stock grips. Luckily I can buy just the rubber inserts for short money.

$20/13 seasons = $1.54 per season
$100/2 seasons = $50 per season

I'd say you win.

13 years, its a piece of rubber in the sun, you have to be kidding me.

the foam on my chevy truck steering wheel is coming loose after only 180,000 miles.
Things dont last forever.

Grips are one of the first things I do on a bike. I don't like the stock grips... It's a personal opinion. However, IF you got 13 years with them.. Nice! Good Job!! Clean them up and see if you can get another couple!

I got these about 18 months ago from HD: http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...09-56100010--1

The rubber portion has held up fine, but all of the metal trim has kind of changed from a true black to more of a purple... I just got some $18 rubber grips from Biltwell that seem very nice.

I do think the relatively simple and basic HD grips are pretty high quality and are fairly priced, though...

Actually, I replaced my stock Dyna grips about a year ago. This was on my FXD from 1994. After just under a quarter million miles, the grips were disintegrating on the bars. Got to where my gloves "stuck" to the spooge.
Bought a throttle side for $9.87 and the dealership had to order in a left grip for $10.96.
So, I guess you're right, it wasn't really "$20."
Still not bad though. It made a huge difference regarding "arm pump" too. My FXD had the stock "Buckhorn" bars for 21 years. Traded that bike in for an FXDL 2016 vintage. The new bike has much stronger brakes. I like that.
Here's apic from last March, with my 98 year old mom...

Your joking right? 13 years and you don't think you should have to replace them....
