Default Anyone know body work?

Hello, new here. Got first Harley. I love it!

Anyhow, the PO dropped it and there's a nice dent in the tank. I am having no luck finding the tank I need, other than from Harley for $800. Yikes. Does anyone think this is repairable? And how would you do it?

With all the labor to get the dent out and the cost of a matching paint job, you'll be pushing close to $600-700. I'd just pick up a new tank. One of the HD discount dealer will get you 20% off of the tank so, $640 shipped to your door.

Buy a new one and sell the old one for salvage value.

Unfortunately, that $800 is just for a primered tank. So still have paint cost. I have a friend who does paint, spoke with him, he said he can pressurize the tank and pop it out and will repaint all the tins gloss black for a good deal. So that's the route I'm heading I think.

Good call..Paint em all..If you throw a little color where the dent was it wont be as noticeable if the body work wasn't 100% being black and all.

It sounds like you have a solution. For future reference, I bought a used tank from this guy a while back. I can't remember what I paid but the tank arrived quickly and in good shape.
