Default AIR shocks (touring) - who has them?

i remember clearly at-least one guy here that swapped his stockers with a set taken off a touring bike.
they go really cheap on e-bay because many touring riders change them with lower ones.

since spending muccho $$$ on 412's or 440's is a no-no right now, these can be a nice alternative to the stock crap.

so...opinions and reviews please

Interresting and they don't look so bad! Depend of the way you mod. your bike.
They may be looking "good" on a Bob like mine!
If someone already try I'l be interrested to know his advice about handling and comfort...
Gunny.

That's my bike. One of the best mods I have ever done. It's like riding on a cloud. They smooth out the way the back of the bike travels. They work better than the old shocks cruising or at speed in a corner. I guess the look may not be for everyone but, For my bike with the fork gators up front it balances out the bike. I have the lowering shocks on mine (1" shorter than stock) and would never put the springs back on. Just my $.02

Jimbo
thanks for your input
a question if you may

i guess expecting the touring shocks to make the ride smooth is normal, since this is what touring rigs are for.
but what about when hammering it in and out of corners?
do these shocks perform well in the twisties?

Hi Jimbo, interresting modification and averycool bike. Bob/Shop style!
If I read you well these are 12" custom shocks as on some Factory Road King.
I have a buddy here in Belgium who replace hisset of 12"at about 25000 miles by stock 13" ones.
Following your comments I think I am going to buy these.
They look good, But isn't it to much miles on? What do you think?
Which air pressure do you set yours?
Sorry for my English, not always too easy to find the correct words!

Gunny.

I ride it like I'm trying to break it and have to say that the bike's rear suspension is firmer in corners and the rear tire stays planted when hitting rough road where the stock shocks would get wheel hop. I can't say enough about how much they have improved the all around road performance of my bike.
