I purchased mine new from Harley and they came with plugs in them to keep the oil from draining out...Why can't the oil be replaced in them? I would think that someone should be able to say what kind and how much oil goes in them.

......If you buy them from someone used...MAKE SURE they put the plugs inwhere the air valvesgobefore shipping otherwise you'll have 2 useless shocks and an oiled soaked box for you troubles. (all the oil WILL drain out of these shocks if they're on their side without plugs in the top & you can't refill them)...do a search, you'll find I'm not the first person to find that out about these touring shocks.....
haksaw

could you please provide some more information about this?

why do you say they cannot be refilled with oil? have you gotten to the bottom of his?
could you direct us to some of that information you mentioned about them?
they seem to go really hot on e-bay, many baggers are selling them and many non-baggers are buying.

.....Running the lines is no big deal they are just plastic hose. I'll try to take some pic's when I get home.
Jimbo
would appreciate it if you find some time to pop some pics of what's going on under your seat

G'day all,
Can anyone say if the lowered touring shocks fit an '06 dyna, they cost over $550 over here and I need to be sure.
I (and she), can't wait for the SOFT ride...

Graham.

what's new down-under squeeech? drinking enough beer i guess?

i believe the lowered glide shocks will fit the dyna, but...
especially if you do mostly two-up riding (and have some extra weight from all that brew).....
i would get the standard length touring shocks.
they can be had on e-bay for 50$ (new take-offs), another 50-70$ shipping to AU and u'r done.

and if you want them to ride lower, justreduce the air pressure to minimum
(it is not recommended letting all the air out as it keeps the oil seals happy) and the shocks will become very soft and compress significantly under rider+passenger weight.

and of course, update us on the installation process and riding impression.

I think the chrome one's look pretty good too, it may just be a matter of getting used to it:

edit: I thought this bike had air shocks but it's just a chrome cover over the regular lowering shocks. Progressive does sell chrome air shocks though that look alot like this.

I like the looks of these. I never met anyone that had them though. I saw a custom at a show and the builder said they were sweet, but he was also the sales guy.

A set of legends would be interesting, but for 1,600.00 it's a stretch...

I looked up the shocks in the H-D book. It doesn't say the length. It only says that it lowers the height by 3/4". The price isn't bag at $275.00. But the question is will they fit a 06 Dyna Wide Glide?

ProfileĀ® Low Touring Shocks

Lower the seat height of your Touring model without compromising the ride. The ProfileĀ® Low Touring Shocks have been revalved for a comfortable ride while lowering the seat height by up to 3/4". The kit maintains the air adjustability feature of the stock shocks.
