We're gonna need a bigger boat... err, battery
I want to get a higher capacity battery for my LR-S. I find that its a bit hard starting too often along with the occasional VINERR. Unfortunately I don't have any way to hook up a tender so my only alternative other then bring the battery up to my apartment is to get one with more capacity.
I would jump on one of the new(ish) LiFePo's, but the stories of them burning down bikes makes me uncomfortable.
I know the standard batt is a 6598997C/ETX20L but I'm wondering if anyone has found one that can cram into the battery bay that has more CCA then the stock (what is it, 18ah, 270CCA?)
I already did a search with not so much helpful results. Maybe I just don't know how...
Any suggestions?
(And just to be 100% clear, there is no way, no how I can get power to use a tender - Underground, no outlets, no power at all in the parking garage)

The stock battery as stated on the HD website is 280CCA. Battery Mart lists a few batteries with 310 CCA for your bike...check out the link below..

Battery Mart has a good line of battery's. Their "Big Crank" has good numbers and a one year free replacement warranty. Having said that, a one year old scooter shouldn't need a battery. Probably already have .. but ... what does your dealer say? Have they load tested the battery and checked you charging system for proper output?

The big cranks are made by the same manufacturer that HD uses.. Deka.. I've not had any luck with those batteries after about 2007, they last about the same.. Started using Yuasa GYZ series batteries and have used Big Boar and Braille in the past.. It's my understanding that Braille and Big Boar were made by Yuasa.. I can order one from Summit Racing and get it the next day UPS regular..
