Default Is my battery dead ?

So I went to start my bike and noted that the key was in the on position with no power. Assumed I left it on and battery drained. Put it on battery tender and it took a full two days to indicate fully charged. Put it in the bike and turned the key..nothing..turned on again and after a brief delay lights came on. Hit the button and heard a loud click from the left side of bike. Turned ignition on and off and it happened again a few times, then finally turned over and started. Rode around a bit and it started consistently. Bike is an '06 with original battery. Time for a new one ? Suggestions ?

Absolutely replace a 10 year old battery!

I replace every 4 years whether I'm having trouble with the battery or not.
Cheap insurance, $100 every 4 years.

Last thing you want to do is get stuck in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery.

Batterymart.com Great service and free shipping.

Agreed; I also swap out the batteries in my vehicles and motorcycles every 4 years. Cheap insurance. As ElectraGlideSteve suggested, check out BatteryMart, the Big Crank battery is what's sitting in my Wide Glide, I changed out the OEM battery at 2 years, the Big Crank will be on the 4 year schedule.

Oh, and quit using the kill switch to shut down the bike

If I did that, my bike would be running forever. I only have a run/stop and starter button... No key.
