I have my 2008 fxd and i plan on buying a set of wideglide trees and a 21 wheel
Reason being im putting a roadglide fairing and bags on because i want a bagger and this is paid for - hell with payments knock me if you must
Im lowered with 10.5" slammers in the rear and lowered 2" up front but plan on putting 11-12" air shocks on the rear. Am i gonna throw my rake and trail way out of wack with wideglide trees and 21"

as long as you put on 0 degree trees, your rake will stay the same no matter how wide of trees you put on. as far as the height of the 21" wheel. you might have to lower the front some more to ride level as long as you keep the rear as low as it is

 

I wanna go 3* or 5* trees, should have clarified sorry

 

you might be ok then with ride height raking the trees with a taller front wheel. be watch out for that "death wabble" as some call it. Its super scary. ive messed around with some raked trees before on some customs ive built. there is a formula to figure out rake and trail ( cant remember off hand right now what it is) but you MUST be in what they call for

 

longer fork tubes and heavy duty springs and heavy duty oil. Might help with the fairing weight and if you want to run a 21" wheel.

 

For your own good please take your modification plans and read than figure it out for yourself. All of the tools are on my web site. I do this for a living and some of the information that the members are giving you are wrong so figure it out for yourself or pay someone who really knows what they are doing. If there is something wrong you would have some recourse to correct the problem. Here is a hint, without making special one off trees and/or cutting your neck and adjusting your steering head angle, your bike may not ride and track correctly.. If someone telly you that they have done it and the bike rides just fine, do the math and decide for yourself.

I put a 21" up front and used a Fat Bob tree, same width as the wide glide tree but with -1 degree of rake, according to the rake and trail calculator, this put my trail damn close to the stock trail of the street bob. I would imagine that the +3 degrees of the wide Glide trees would put your trail out of range and also lower your front end more.
