Should I Install Race Tech Myself?
#12
What are you going to do if you can not get the damper rod bolt out or better still if you get one bolt out and can not get your bike off of the lift? You need some sort of way to keep your frame in the air while your forks are off of the bike. Are you going to leave your bike alone in the parking garage? I personally would not do this job without air. How are you going to clean your forks when you do get it apart.
How are you going to drill out the damper rods if you use RT methods on how they work. Ever try hand drilling a hollow rod? You may need V-Blocks and a drill press. I install many of these but do not use the RaceTech's directions and get better results than drilling out the damper rods and adding more holes.
This job in not the least bit difficult however not having the proper equipment definitely will greatly increase the frustration level especially doing it the first time.
