Fuel Moto E Series Exhaust System for Dyna
#71
Thanks, The disc system was developed in 1971 by SuperTrapp. Tells ya somethin when a technology that is 45 years old is still used. Other companies have tried developing an exhaust that can be tuned but none lasted long at all let alone 45 years. I like a nice sounding Harley, don't get me wrong, but you paid good money for a high performing exhaust that has great capabilities. If you are running the Standard 103 instead of the S model 110, that is even more reason to leave that cap on. Your choice, your bike, just my performance suggestion. The tech that tuned my S told me he got 132 ft lbs of torque. That is AWESOME torque for a 640 lb bike. Torque is acceleration, HP is top end performance. I'll take torque anytime and thats what puts you back in your seat when you roll it on... I'm running the cap on a 117.....

I hear and can appreciate what your saying. I have run the PV autotune a couple times and decel pop ceased and the bike runs great.
More interestingly, here is a pic from Fuel Moto's Dyna 2 into 1 web site clearly showing the end cap removed. So I have to wonder. . .

This picture has the end cap in place, it is recommended in all E-Series applications

By removing that closed end cap you have started to remove all the technology that makes the disc system exhaust what it is. If you remove all the discs, you have changed that system into a basic non tunable open pipe. Removing the end cap was akin to adding about 10 discs to it. You removed much of your torque capability. If you remove the discs as well, you might as well just have an open can. It will run real lean and the only thing you MAY have added was at the very top end WOT. If you remove all the discs I strongly suggest you get the bike tuned because you are gonna run real lean. Louder exhaust by no means will be a better performing exhaust. If it's all about the noise for you, just be aware of the negative side...
Can you tell us about the tank logo?
Thanks
