I was able to remove the bracket on 5-31 and then sent the tool to BigMo on 6-1. I'd like to thank Daily Driver for such a great idea and for his generosity. FYI, if you have forward controls you'll want to drop the brake rod and will probably need a new cotter pin.

Holy crap. I can't even remember leaving the worthless piece on there. Those damn heat shield clamps must have ticked me off so much they drove me to drinking and I completely overlooked it. But now you raised the issue and I'm irritated that I can't get it off myself without some special tool. [:@] Thanks a lot.

Funny thing I was just looking at that little bastard last night and tryin to figure out what I could quickly fabricate to get it the hell off of there!

I'm curious to know where the tool is....what size torx is it anyway? I'll be checking, but if i can be lazy and ask...well, then I will ;-)
