it's the w205pp that was mentioned. i was already thinking about those earlier after measuring with both wide bearings

both wide

both wide... just short of stock

will do, appreciated as always

i was thinking that this morning (both wide bearings) and measured it out ~6.4" total vs stock ~6.45" total.

the front was, out of the box, right where it needed to be. we know that it must have moved. i'll check it when i get back home.

"both wide" Should be just LONG of stock

Using your measurements...

TOP ..... 6.443" (=.809 +4.825 +.809)
BOTTOM 6.427" (=.590 +5.247 +.590)

But that right side (for rear, left for front) bearing width is also used for bearing/spacer/bearing positioning within the hub. So if you do that test fit, and we get a reference that i think we'll get, then i'll tell you how to use your 205pp if desired. (easier/cheaper to obtain on the road...the way you like it )

man up moment here-

the more thought i put into it, this may have been self-inflicted due to rushing.

i'm thinking i mixed up the bearings that i removed, lackadaisically thinking that they were the same as stock and put them all in the same place. honestly with my performance over the last 2-3 days, it's more than possible... the least likely case is they screwed up at the s & s component factory. i'm 95% sure that didn't happen.

if the wheel bearings were good before i messed with them and now they are wrong, considering the wheels were custom made for my bike... i think the finger should be pointed and me... more than likey, the two wide bearings were at the back and i mixed up the take offs- even though i stacked them. there are just too many things pointing at me as the root cause... the front wheel was exactly where it needed to be... if it still is... it was 100% me

i'm going out now to review and test fit.

All fits. Front was the same as the crappy wheel used on the dead bike in terms of mounting. Back wheel jumped right on. No fuss.

Thank you multihdrdr for the save... i would have been all over the place trying to figure that one out. I will order the w205pp bearings and put them on the next time i take the wheel off.

Finally

+1, Fear of making a mistake can be paralyzing, having the courage to keep moving forward and doing "stuff" yourself is a growth and learning exercise that makes you more mechanically competent and a better human being. Win-win.
I screw up regularly and I tell myself this... Its not how you screw up, it's how you recover that's important.
Mega points to multihdrdr for spotting the issue.
