C, maybe it's just the photo(s), but it appears the bearing is deeper on that pulley side after your bearing exchange. Did you notice if the bearing bore depths were different? and did you start the first bearing on the brake disc side or on this pulley side?
Before bearing changeout...
After bearing changeout...

I've removed and installed wheel bearings multiple times but have never seated a bearing too deep. If a bearing is indeed seated too far what are your options? Can you use the bearing removal tool to pull the bearing back to proper depth or does the bearing need to be removed and replaced? I guess I'm asking if you should replace the bearings if you toast the install...
Forever a student...

I try to learn something new every day...sometimes I fail, but trying to keep that in the minority
along the same lines posted above...
Technically, you would/should replace a bearing anytime you use one race+the ***** (or rollers, etc) to forcefully move the other race, such as during the wheel bearing removal process because you can't get to the outer race so the inner race+***** is used instead to remove bearing assy.
With that being said, if you used a slide-hammer (or hammer and drift) to remove or move the bearing...It's definitely time for a replacement. On the other hand using a typical puller like this Pit Posse, because it applies force (how much needed depends on "interference fit", time in housing/bore, etc), but not impacting force you probably could get away with it especially when considering it was a New "just installed" bearing with lubricated outer race/housing.
It has no doubt been done countless times before with no ill effects. You would have for judge yourself on case by case basis. Maybe even "Was it a $5 or $40 bearing?" comes into play
.

Education.....
Thank you!
yes, it is in too deep... i will adjust the bearings... glad you caught it before i put the pulley back on. more Multihdrdr checks being written.
Hamfist is on the loose in my garage. ..... he also destroyed my front tire bead by leaving it stretched over the wheel lip all night. had to drive to daytona to get another tire..... because no shop in tallahassee, panama city, or j.ville had one. j&p cycles had one... 7.5 hrs later, having fought through biketoberfest, walking 1/2 mile with a tire because that radius of the building was reserved for bikes only...
i have a new front tire to mount (stupidity is expensive ).... fun times...
it was actually all positive... learned a lot plus a super dose of humility....
shop :"hey, did you know a rim guard was in your tire?"
me : "Yes... yes i did... i did that"
shop : "..."
shop :"you sure you want us to mount this tire with the bead torn up like this (pointing at rip and exposed wires)"
me : "F***!"
that kinda day...
at least i woke up this morning.
