Ultras?...Are you be familiar with "Western States 100"...in my "backyard". Not for me, I'm not a runner, but friends run/jog it.
Those are the big boy races. That and the leadville. I'm down in the 50k and 50 milers.

My feet/ankles won't take that kind of pounding. More than 5 miles at a time and my feet go numb and I start to stumble.

Sounds like shoes/laces. Most of those monster distances are off road /trail. Easier on the body

I need to start running again. Got to a 5K and then blow out my knee. mended that and then my 11 month old though all his weight to one side and I fell on the knee again. My stupid as* road the bike to work today and lets just say I was leaning hard on the other knee.

Cvaria I can't wait to see the BB kit installed been eyeing that after I get my tuner.

Man you guys with the big distances. I'm 51 and lift 5 days and run 2-3. With my joints and such I won't go over a 10k. However, I find it more fun to walk on 5 or 10k's and compete. I'm down to high 23 minutes on the 5K and upper 40's for a 10k. It pisses off my runner friends that run long distances and can't catch me on the short races. LOL

Good luck on the half coming up. I did one and vowed never to do it again. It sucked! LOL

23s at 51, you must take home a masters every time you run. riding outside the age-graded performance bell curve. good job sir!

i was embarrassed when i started taking "mature" awards (could figure out why at first) but then, you look at it as... how many guys my age are able to do what i'm doing... then it feels good again.

Funny, I lived in Leadville for over 5 years (Still own a home there, will sell one day), while I worked at Copper Mountain. I'm a cyclist and have done the leadville 100 bike race (Mtn), along with the various road rides.

Nasty race the Leadville 100, I can only imagine how rough a running race would be. Leadville itself is a great little town albeit sucks trying to make pancakes at 10,200 feet.

Bike is looking awesome!

No masters for... It seems to be one of the most competitive brackets. Sadly, I usually land in the middle raring wise.

Need some pics of your scoot. It's coming along really well.
