per the directions of the bassani folks, i grabbed some basic 2" worm drive clamps and fixed the failed one.

tried out the leftover black headlight bezel from the crappy funlove headlight bucket i installed on my sportster.

Doesn't look that great but makes the elements in the headlight pop.

Just a comment, but those clamps don't appear to "all" stainless (but might be the photo). Keep that in mind if the screw and "retainer" start to corrode (rust)

Mcmaster-Carr would certainly have them, but you can get them locally. There was a time when "Every" SS worm drive clamps was All SS (didn't have to say it on the clamp). Now Cheapness has set in.

finally got around to swapping out the worm drive to the ss one Multi recommended. Started at it the day he said get them but was a PIA to get the clamp through the loop on the heat shield without taking it off the pipes... kept walking away after 5 minutes of shucking and jiving. Only took 4 days.

all engine shined and good to go.

Follow on from humbling drop incident: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...l#post17291384

Readjusted /replaced:
  1. Right controls shift from impact
  2. right turn signal trim ring die a horrible death, was replaced with a spare
  3. right turn signal stem nut was knocked loose. Tightened, good to go

damage:
  1. megaphone seem to have been knock out of round and has a nice shiner now.
  2. Lower/front heat shield scraped pretty good.
  3. Pedal slapped the heat shield. . Probably kept damage to rest of yhe bike down.
  4. Rear brake pedal bent.
  5. right grip is gnarled up
