I am glad you're still heading down to Lakeland to get it; it's time to bring your new ride home...

I simply don't understand the latest in nanny state rules; I used to rent trailers and use them on my CJ-5's with no issues at all. And living in Florida, those didn't even have a soft top or doors, just a bikini cover...

i suppose i could have lied and said it was a hard top but, with my record as of late, that would have blown up in my face in the worst possible way.

Just play it safe getting your new girl home; don't bullshit the powers that be. I just don't get it myself, your Jeep is more than ready for the job. More and more I think Orwell was more prophet than a novelist...

I am looking forward to seeing the images and helping you spend many many monies

I've been checking in with this thread occasionally...good to see you're finally getting the bike.

I may have missed it, but are you deviating from your previous WG in any way, or just basically recreating it?

There will be deviations due to the fact that few of the parts that i used were NOS and aren't readily available. Also, i learned from the last go round, rush past the PC trees, and we know what works and what doesn't. So the first round willl be restoration of the old goods. From there, dunno... I'm open.

Picked it up from the coolest guy I've met in Florida.

He gave me the stock parts and the extra goods.... so right away...

The dead bear was defeated...

bearless...

Also installed the 8690 since it was being ridden home at night.

Now in the sweat shop...

Thumbs up issue thus far

issues...
1. Chrome primary abomination must go...
2. somebody hamfisted the front M/C cover and never fixed it... issues followed:

needs to be replaced or repainted...

3. no pigtail for battery tender. i have an extra but, i'm changing the battery anyway... will address at that time.

4. grips have a missing end cap. (petty but, ...)

5... seems like stage 1 was already done going by feel... this bike does not, in any way, feel like the stocker i bought or any i test drove in october... no lag/odd locomotion sensation i was crying about... none of it.

6. need to get the glue from the seat pad squares off

7.need to restore the bars to stock... the bar on there are not the same as stock.... the stock ones were included with the extras given to me. the rear brake is not a joke like mine was prior... the handle bar bushings aren't shot and bouncing around.... this is a lively semi fun bike as is... these cobra slip-on actually have bark and bass (will add video later, tired AF)

8. need to reinstall the stock mini sissy bar...

that's first walk around....

overall great bike. better than my original was when i first got it.
