Daaaaammn!

Like you said though, you knew better. Crazy thing is none of these big bore "kits" address these issues. Could have been worse. Glad it wasn't. Iii have to look into the race.

The upgraded basket is on my to-do list someday...wanted to do it when I had the primary off to do the 30t pulley, but my budget wouldn't allow it. Looks like I should do it sooner than later.

If you ride hard w/ a built motor I highly recommend getting a new basket and clutch setup. I got real lucky....could have ruined the entire inside of the primary, locked up the rear wheel, bent/snapped the crank, and caused a major accident.
riding season is claiming bikes left and right. glad there were no "complications" there's been enough...

Making my decision to get the Evolution basket feel soooo good!

You were needing something to feed your gearhead appetite anyway!

Now I understand the Thread on the fancy pulley nut.

TINCUP - HA, that's a good jam for sure. Gonna have to add that one to my playlist.

PILOT - definitly a worth while investment when you're in there and your motor is built. I keep kicking myself in the *** for not doing to when I did my clutch, but funds weren't really there to drop $1k.

I got the S&S race and still waiting for the basket to come in along w/ new gaskets. I'm also going to gloss powder my inner primary by the Powder Pro. I'll post pics once I have everything and start assembly.

I'm going to powder the outside of the inner primary for looks..... Not the inside. Since I have it off now I might as well. At a later time I'll powder the outer primary cover because that one is real simple to get to.

I think it will actually look cool having silver engine, gloss place inner primary, then silver outer primary.

Default ok, so i gotta question

I love my FXDWG, somehow the best bike ive ever owned. cant really explain why, these things are so f'ing primitive there funny. my question is, So after you pin it and launch will the tranny allow you to keep grabbing gears with wide open throttle? or are you simply doing 2nd gear "launches" and its over when it rev's out?

When I'm really running it that's how I shift....keep the throttle wide open and blip the clutch as I shift.
