Weird... I was literally thinking about looking for this thread yesterday, because I just found some shots from the day I picked up my bike. And now here it is, back after a three year break the very next day!!!
This was my 2000 FXDX the day I first saw it, responding to a local Craigslist ad. The original owner had passed away about eight months prior, and his widow had just decided it was time to let the bike go. A family friend and riding buddy was handling it for them. I knew I wanted the bike, and they were super nice people. And the whole scene involved a lot of tears. I didn't haggle at all, even though the $5,200 asking price seemed designed to be talked down to five grand. It had about 15,000 miles on it, and was stone stock except for a 95" build done in it's first year. The only non-stock items visible were the Cycle Shack M pipes and Mikuni carb. Stock seat, bars, signals, etc. And a big, turn signal shaped dent on each side of the tank. Rode it 45 minutes home on a crisp March day.
Here it is now. Not radically different visually, just a bunch of subtle stuff. Seat, bars, lighting... LOTS of powdercoating, a fresh NOS FXDX tank, a fresher engine build, and more brakes and suspension.

Well since this one was revived...
When I got the Low Rider three years - bone stock, brand new off the floor with about 29 miles:
Attachment 617933
Now, 21k miles, god knows how many pipes and sets of handlebars later...
Still wrestling with whether I want to sell this one and get the monthly cost off my back, or suck it up and just hustle to get it paid off early. Every time I get content with the TSport and the idea of selling this one, I take it for one ride and I'm reminded why I love this bike...Guess it's here to stay...
