Default My new FXDX project

Well, I finally got off my lazy butt and purchased a 2000 FXDX from one of my co-workers. The bike has been sitting in his garage for the last 8 years collecting dust due to him having a knee injury and not being able to ride any longer. I got the bike for a fair price and can't wait to start stripping off some of the accessories to make it my own. My first plan is to drain all the fluids out of it and rebuild the carburetor. Some of the fuel lines are a little brittle from sitting so long so I will be replacing those as well. Should be a lot of fun!

Gotta love the Dynas!!

That's a nice bike. It's hard to find a FXDX in that condition that hasn't been dicked up. The closer you keep it to stock the more it will be worth.

Thanks everyone.

I will definitely post pictures of the progress. So far, I am really happy with the bike. It needs some tweaking due to it sitting so long but I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

I am thinking that the club style bike is starting to get a little stale so I am going to go a different direction with it and do a nasty/classy style. Make it loud as hell with a touch of chrome. lol

Took a bunch of the accessories off today and put on a solo seat that I got from a forum member (Thanks Unimoose!!).

I have new tires, Vance and Hine Pro pipe, new air cleaner, front turn signals, headlight, carburetor kit with new jets, new petcock, all fluids, etc, etc, etc left to do. Gonna be nice when I get it done though.
