I'm wanting to put a crash bar on my '02, but I have the FLD footboard kit. The correct/original piece appears to be unobtainium.

Trying to find out if the '06 & up crash bar will fit the '05 & earlier bikes? I've searched the forum & several have said they won't, but I notice that Lindby uses the same p/n for '91-'16 models. Am I missing something?

I don't want to spend Lindby money & prefer the look of the factory piece. So, does anyone know whether the later crash bars will fit (or can be easily massaged to fit)?
